Lauren has eight years of professional experience in communications. She graduated from Carleton University with a BA Honours in Communication Studies in 2014 and has held various communications positions at Carleton University, the British High Commission, and Colliers International. She currently works at ACFO-ACAF, a federal public service union for accountants, as the Manager of Communications and Membership Engagement. She is also a certified Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i 2.0) instructor and holds a Professional & Personal Coach Certification from Concordia University. Her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation is in progress. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel, and jog!

Sherry is an innovative digital communicator who advises on social media strategy and countering false information in the online environment. She joined the federal public service in 2018 after working for six years as a multimedia journalist at CBC Ottawa, where she produced radio, television and online news. Sherry has been asked to speak publicly on issues connected to social media regulation, podcast creation, and the future of journalism. She has produced podcasts for Carleton University, The Ottawa Business Journal, and is the current host and producer of IABC Ottawa’s The Voice Podcast.

Alexandra is an award winning communications professional with a specialization in digital marketing. She has created and executed successful digital strategies for high-profile organizations by creating innovative content campaigns. Alexandra holds a Master’s in Professional Communication and a BA in Media Production from Ryerson University’s internationally acclaimed RTA School of Media. She is an avid consumer of pop and internet culture and a self-proclaimed Twitter nerd.

With an extensive communications skill set and rich international experience, Anu Sharma has over 13 years of expertise in public relations. Some of her experiences include media relations, digital marketing, crisis, event and reputation management. Her analytics-driven approach and strategic thinking have contributed to her leading multiple award-winning PR campaigns across various sectors, including education, automotive, healthcare, technology, sports, consumer packaged goods, government and entertainment. In 2019, she was one of PR Moment India’s “30 under 30,” recognized for her contributions to the public relations profession. She is a proud ACPR (Algonquin College Public Relations) alum. Apart from her commitment to the communications world, travelling, dancing, cooking and spending time with her family make Anu happy.

Alex has over 12 years of experience with integrated marketing strategy, digital analytics and project management. He graduated from Algonquin College in the Advertising program in 2010. Over the last decade and a bit, he spent time with the Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Senators, CCA, Pointer Creative and Accurate Creative holding various roles in communications. Receiving his Scrum Master’s certification in 2016, he went on to manage multiple award-winning websites & eCommerce projects. He brings a strong proficiency in providing creative marketing solutions that focus on user experience, brand engagement and online acquisitions.

In his spare time, Alex loves all things sports (especially hockey and golf), family, DIY home projects, and always hunting down the world’s best poutine.

Patrick is a communications professional with nine years of experience. He has offered strategic counsel to Ontario cabinet ministers in crisis situations and led results-driven communications strategies for clients at a PR agency. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped establish the Toronto Financial District Business Improvement Area (BIA) as a trusted advocate for business members and a reassuring source of information for their 250,000+ employees.

Patrick moved to Ottawa in 2020 and currently works for Fulbright Canada. He’s lived and worked in five cities throughout his career: Osaka, Japan; London, England; Toronto; Calgary; and now Ottawa.

Alisha is a highly motivated, passionate and strategic communication professional, with over 13 years of experience conceptualizing and executing dynamic marketing and communication campaigns that drive meaningful results. She recently graduated with a Master of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and she holds a Communications degree from Simon Fraser University.

Alisha spent the last nine years at CBC Calgary and CBC Saskatoon, developing local and national communication, marketing and public relations campaigns to drive audience growth objectives while building strategic and engaging partnerships. Before CBC, Alisha’s career started in consulting with Cornerstone Planning Group, where she implemented stakeholder and community engagement programs for a broad range of public and private sector clients in the lower mainland. Since moving to Ottawa, Alisha has gone back to her consulting roots, she is a Senior Communications Advisor at CBC/Radio-Canada and Director of Strategy at Vision2Voice.

Born and raised in Vernon BC, Alisha has also lived in Kelowna, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Calgary (and has served on IABC boards in BC, Saskatoon and Calgary) – she’s excited to be a new Ottawan and has been enjoying the cycling, paddleboarding, dog parks and small town road trips since she’s arrived.

Sandra has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications management and partnership development with a focus on publishing, marketing, and outreach in government, non-profit, multidisciplinary, and global environments. With a Bachelor of Humanities from Carleton and a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser, she started her career by working several years for the federal government in publications and editorial services. The wider world called, and she left Canada to spend almost a decade abroad, working on global climate and conservation communications and policy portfolios, based in Indonesia and Switzerland. Now back home in Ottawa, she has settled into a role with a non-profit association focused on building up the brand of actuaries and socio-economic policy change in Canada. She loves reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband, teenagers, and pet cockatiels.

Roselie’s passion for communications in the political sphere pulled her from the mountains of the West Coast to the nation’s capital. In Vancouver, Roselie was part of the public relations and marketing team for a Vancouver start-up that quickly rose to the forefront of its industry. She also lent her skills and resourcefulness to several non-profit organizations, providing content creation and planning services. Currently, Roselie works as an Account Director at spark*advocacy – a public affairs, communications, and digital marketing agency in Ottawa. Roselie holds a master’s degree from the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University and a post-graduate certificate in public relations from Humber College.
