About this event

This past year we’ve learned that having the support of a community makes us stronger… and we’re ready to celebrate brighter days ahead! Join us at IABC Ottawa’s hybrid Season Closer & AGM on Thursday, June 16 at 6:30pm. This event is a chance to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a while, meet new ones, and toast to the unofficial start of summer!

Door prizes will be available for those attending in-person!

Here’s a preview of what to expect:

• 6:30pm – Welcome, year in review, awards and vote in the 2021-22 Board of Directors
• 7:30pm – Keynote presentation with Communicator of the Year winner, Deirdre Freiheit (CEO & President of Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation)
• 8:30pm – Closing words to launch us into the next season

Shepherds of Good Hope has been supporting individuals in Ottawa who experience homelessness for almost 40 years. This past year, the organization
has lead some of the city’s most innovative fundraising campaigns (like Sing for Hope) that have brought people joy during a difficult time. In her keynote presentation, you will hear directly from Deirdre about how she lead her team at Shepherds of Good Hope through a period of hardship and is now building a bright plan for the future.

COVID-19 Precautions

For those attending in person, we are taking extra precautions to ensure attendees health and wellness are at the top of mind, including having sanitizer
products available as you enter the space. A mask is not mandatory to attend, but you are welcome to wear one based on your personal comfort level. If you are feeling sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms please stay home.

Transportation

For those attending in person, the venue can be accessed by bicycle, transit or car.

• Bicycle: Take the Ottawa River Pathway to access the space. Bike racks are available at the front and back of the building.
• Transit: Bayview Yards is 600m from the LRT Bayview Station.
• Driving: There are 50 spaces along Bayview Road that offer 2H free parking. Paid parking is available in the gravel parking lot on-site through Honk Mobile.
